Go! Find Me The Trinity.

Go!

Jesus drew near to them and said to them: To me has been given all power in heaven and earth. Go and teach them to carry out all the things which I have commanded you forever.” Matthew 28:18-20 Shem Tob Version

So there it is, the contentious verse Matthew 28:19 from the controversial Hebrew Shem Tob. Yet, while the book itself is indeed controversial is this particular rendering of the long contentious verse at Matthew 28:19?

As the Shem Tob is a late comer in the scripture translation game, just for our benefit here is a little bit about the author and a snippet from the translation:

“Shem-Tob ben Isaac Ibn Shaprut was the author of an anti-Christian religious treatise, The Touchstone, completed in 1380 and revised in 1385 and 1400. Often referred to as “The Logic of Shem Tob”, it argues against the belief that Jesus is God. It also argues against attributing the role of Messiah to Jesus.
For this reason Shem Tob’s Hebrew Gospel of Matthew, which is included in this work, is considered the oldest surviving text of a New Testament book in Hebrew.”

Did you catch that? The Hebrew Shem Tob is the oldest surviving text of a New Testament book in Hebrew. Folks, all New Testament scriptures were written in Greek and this, the ‘oldest’ surviving work in Hebrew was, wait for it, completed in 1380AD. Folks, that’s not old. That’s 1380 years AFTER the death of Jesus Christ! If this is not a screaming case of ‘Hebrew Idolatry’ I don’t know what is. Once again, the stumbling block – if it’s Hebrew it trumps everything! This is indeed the very poison in the well.

Nonetheless, the Shem Tob is interesting because it omits one particular verse that is crucial to the ‘Trinity’ doctrine that beguiles so many to this day. It is possibly simply omitted for the reason that none of the elements of the ‘Trinity’ are appreciated by the author, but it could also be for a more legitimate reason; the translation is accurate as the contentious verse is actually not there and Shem-Tob ben Isaac Ibn Shaprut having no dog in any Christian theological fight simply enjoyed a brisk moment of quick and painless transcription before getting back to more difficult verses that required greater imagination and effort in his campaign to smear and deny the divinity of Jesus Christ?

Folks, indeed one should not get too attached to particular Bibles, nor particular verses for myriad reasons and as David Bercot has noted:

“The best translation of the Bible is the one you’ll actually read.”

A simple example would be the The Lord’s Prayer:

“And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.”

“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”

“And forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.”

These are 3 different versions of Matthew 6:12 from respectively, The New Matthew Bible, The King James Bible, and The New Living Translation. Bible Hub has more. 33 editions more at last count. Freemasons eat your heart out.

At any rate, Matthew 28:19 is the number one silver bullet in the arsenal of all those which preach the Holy Trinity. Yet, if one reads from Genesis through to Revelation it is evident that upon removal of this one pesky verse, there is no Trinity. Now, I know the case will be made that indeed a Triune god exists because a few verses can be construed to support the proposed deity, but these arguments are pitiful, so pitiful we are not going to go into them. The ravening wolves that demand your obedience to the designs of their delusion are counting on you not reading and checking for yourself! So, check away please.

Now dear readers, once the word of God was received and put down, errors, intentional or otherwise naturally came into the successive versions. Even ‘Holy Bible’ itself is misleading. It translates from ‘Helios Byblos’. ‘Helios’ = Sun and ‘Byblos’ was the city where the printing of the books took place. So, ‘Holy Bible’ translates as ‘Sun Book’. Why ‘Sun Book’? Is there a sun worship cult buried within the Roman Church? A quick look at Christmas and the solar events surrounding the origins of the festival would certainly support the suggestion. Also, if we are keeping our eyes wide shut have to recognise the simple and sad fact that many people and institutions have sought, and to this day seek, to conjure their own wild ideas out of the scriptures.

So, let’s ask a simple question. If Jesus is The Son of God The Father, where would those that oppose or hate Him like to sow deception in order to most effectively mislead people? If you said: ‘On the lips of Christ’, you win! I don’t actually have any prize for you but The Father might?

It shouldn’t be that hard to figure this out should it? Getting this deception in writing would be priority number one no/yes? I know. It’s a sad state of affairs out there folks, but something’s got to give.

Now below is a desktop still from the Walter Veith presentation linked below, that shows various pre-Christ Pagan ‘Trinities’.

Now the thing that stumped me for awhile about Mr. Veith, was that after figuring out the trickery of Vatican Rome, whereby they essentially made Mary the wife of God and Christ the Son so as to continue the pagan formula you see above (Lord of Heaven, Queen of Heaven, Messiah), Mr. Veith still declared faith in a ‘Trinity’. What gives? Well, what gives is this. Walter Veith is a Seventh Day Adventist; Protestant. Protestants being effectively offshoots or branches from the main tree have specific and peculiar points of theology upon which their denomination is founded. This is why there are so many denominations and why they bicker and squabble over bits and pieces while loosely dragging along behind ‘Mother Church’ like grumbling dwarves or cans behind a wedding car.  For Mr. Veith,  the ‘Trinity’ consists of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit and NOT God, Mary & Son! This is the correct Trinity as opposed to the corrupt Catholic Trinity! Lol

“But, isn’t that accurate?” I hear you ask.

It’s right here in Matthew 28:19!” I hear you demand.

Well, it may seem more sane and accurate than the Vatican’s obvious re-packaged paganism, except that it isn’t that accurate after all. As I have mentioned above, remove the contentious verse Matthew 28:19 and where good reader does this third superhero deity exist?

Yet, it gets worse. Regarding this ‘Trinity’ one simply needs to let their fingers do the walking and investigate the myriad declarations of various Protestant churches and faith group websites and you will see for yourself, that 1) Matthew 28:19 is paramount and 2) this means the Godhead is either a trinity of 3 superheroes or one deity which, appears in 3 ways and you can see why people are confused!

Now, let’s ask a few basic questions. Firstly, if this so-called ‘Trinity’ were real don’t you think you’d actually find evidence of these three deities in equal interplay through the Scriptures? Secondly, were the disciples of Christ into being wayward or disobedient? Why did they baptise in the name of Christ alone and not in the name of any ‘Trinity’?

“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Acts 2:37,38 KJV (Underline mine)

Thirdly, why would Christ instruct such a baptism when neither the Father nor the Holy Spirit were crucified; only He, Jesus Christ was? Only He died for our salvation and only through Him can anyone be saved.

“Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?” 1 Corinthians 1:13 New International Version

This verse lays out the case pretty well. Why be baptised in the name of a ‘Trinity’ when it is laid out so succinctly here?

Now, if you have been instructed to understand the Holy Spirit as some third deity buzzing about helping God and doing His work, yet never really being revealed or speaking, what happens when we get here:

“Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 NKJV

Does that mean the Holy Spirit will show up with a box wrapped in fancy paper, a ribbon with a bow and something special inside just for you? Here is a version that clears it all up:

“Peter answered them, “Every one of you must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus the Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.” Acts 2:38 International Standard Version

No yes? There is no confusing what is going on in this NIV rendering. This is exactly the crux of the matter but find a church today that 1) offers baptism in Christ’s name only and 2) understands the concept of receiving the Holy Spirit as a gift from God and call me when you do. They are rare as hen’s teeth. (If you are in Australia try these folks United Church of God). (Just for the record, I was given a very hostile rebuking by a particularly entrenched religious fellow just the other day for suggesting no ‘Trinity’!) It’s rough out there folks.

Now, another major problem with the KJV in its original rendering is the use of the word ‘He’ instead of ‘It’ when treating the Holy Spirit. (Exactly how I was given a good telling off the other day – ‘The Holy Spirit is a ‘He’!)

Combined with the ridiculous use of Holy Ghost instead of Holy Spirit, this really seems to set the story on it’s ear and gives it a rather Shakespearian feel, as if the ghost of Hamlet were lurking about (When I was young I used to get an image in my mind of Jacob Marley from Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’!), when clearly we are dealing with the Spirit of God. New editions of the KJV seem to have cleaned up much of this confusion by using the Holy Spirit instead of Holy Ghost. However, the ‘He’ business still lurks within its’ pages, which, can only mean the priesthood commands this nonsense. Of course this is one of the most basic translation errors possible. When conjugating verbs, third person singular tense always refers to he/she/it. So why the ‘He’ when ‘It’ should clearly be used? Was that just a silly mistake? Or did the translators imagine, perhaps correctly that they could get away with such nonsense because the majority of people wouldn’t do the checking but just accept whatever they were told and repeat ‘Yes, sir. No, sir. Three bags full’! So, what’s up with this little translation error? What wicked little game is being played at the heart of the ‘Sun Book’? How much nonsense and violent threat have people been reproached with due to the insistence on ‘He’ instead of ‘It’? So, for centuries now we have had people told the Holy Ghost can appear as a dove too? Yes, yes of course, but otherwise it just rattles it’s chains! And says what? Nothing. Some third deity in a ‘Trinity’! Perhaps the sad reality is that the high priests just want people to believe it is actually they and their peculiar rituals that do the saving, not Jesus Christ?

So, having said all of that – go! Please, go find me this ‘Trinity’ because you won’t find it. Find me this ‘Trinity’ somewhere, anywhere in the Scriptures and I don’t mean to extend to you an invitation to recite robotic pap. I mean show me how The Holy Spirit is a third person that makes it’s own decisions and has its own domain, because you won’t find it. What you will find is that The Holy Spirit clearly is an ‘it’, a force given by God, which, you dear reader may be lucky enough to receive if you are ready to repent of your sins and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.

“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:” Matthew 3:16

(For an interesting example of how scripture translation gets wild, see the below link to SDA Walter Veith doing a thorough job tearing a strip off the Douay-Rheims Bible in comparison with the KJV; he tours through omitted passage after omitted passage, changed verses, different words and more. Sadly, he did not get into how either of these bibles compare to the Septuagint LXX with their corrupt Masoretic Text as the basis for their Old Testament sections. Another time perhaps.)
